An international alliance had outgrown its website
GAGGA — the Global Alliance for Green and Gender Action — operates through a network of organisations working across countries, issues and communities. Its website had accumulated many of the problems common to long-running international programmes: content organisation had become difficult, search was weak, important sections could not be updated easily, and multilingual content was handled in a non-standard way inside a legacy CMS.
The limitation was not simply that the site looked old. The platform made it difficult to present the alliance as a living network. Publications were not organised into a useful searchable library. Partner organisations could not be explored through an interactive geographic experience. Campaign teams had limited flexibility to create richer pages. Search visibility and SEO foundations were weak.
The redesign therefore had to serve several audiences at once: organisations already participating in the GAGGA network, potential funders and evaluators, and people trying to understand the alliance's work, evidence and geographic reach.
