The challenge

Turning fragmented datasets into public economic infrastructure

Advocata held substantial economic data in spreadsheets, reports and other formats. The challenge was to normalise that material into consistent, readable datasets that could be maintained over time and reused across dashboards, search and analysis.

The product

A platform for dashboards, discovery and questions

ODDLY designed the data structures and publishing workflows that allow Advocata to turn updated datasets into public dashboards. Visitors can explore the figures directly, find relevant material through Algolia-powered AI-assisted search, and ask questions of the underlying economic data.

Process and delivery

Designing the data, interface and AI layer together

A maintainable public repository rather than a fixed collection of reports.

The engagement combined data modelling, information architecture, UX/UI, data visualisation, WordPress engineering and AI integration. ODDLY mapped disparate inputs into reusable dataset structures, created publishing patterns for continually updated dashboards, connected search and discovery through Algolia, and designed the question-answering layer around Advocata’s own data.

What the platform makes possible

From scattered files to a continuously updated data repository

Advocata can add and update economic datasets, publish dashboards from the same structured information and make the material easier for researchers, journalists and the public to understand. Users can browse datasets, follow sources, search across the repository and ask questions from the data through AI.

A live foundation for a growing public data repository
The live platform already publishes datasets and dashboards covering fiscal operations, the macro economy, government transparency and state-owned enterprises. Its structure is designed to expand as Advocata adds and updates further economic data.
